Southwest Greensburg Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to assist the City of Greensburg Fire Department with a reported porch fire.
The first arriving officers discovered a grill on fire with propane tanks that had exploded, causing flames to spread to the back of the residence.
Our truck company split our 5 FF crew upon arrival. The interior crew entered the structure to check for fire extension, while the exterior crew placed ladders to the building and performed ventilation. The fire had extended into the bathroom, but thanks to the quick response, it was knocked down before causing further damage. Crews pulled walls and ceilings to ensure there were no hidden hot spots and completed overhaul operations to secure the scene.
