On the evening of June 26, Southwest Greensburg Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident on Route 30, where a passenger vehicle rear-ended a tri-axle truck.
South Greensburg Fire Chief (Chief 32) arrived just ahead of our Rescue Pumper and found a civilian, identified as a nurse, performing CPR on the driver, who had been removed from the vehicle. Chief 32 and Mutual Aid EMS personnel quickly joined in the resuscitation efforts. Our Rescue Pumper arrived moments later and assisted with patient care.
The driver was successfully revived on scene and transported to the hospital in critical condition.
Southwest Greensburg units remained on scene alongside South Greensburg and other Hempfield Township departments, assisting with road closures while Pennsylvania State Police conducted their investigation and accident reconstruction. |
