Southwest Greensburg participated in the Battle of the Barrel held at Youngstown Fire Department in conjunction with the Westmoreland County Convention being held in marguerite.  Deputy Chief Bill Wright, Jr, Lieutenant Justin Schell, and Firefighters Ed Milliron, Jim "Ja" Rule, and Amber Noel made up the GSG team.  After a loss to Youngstown #1 in the first round, the team battled back and knocked Pleasant Unity #2 out of the tournament in the second round.  In the third round, Team GSG got knocked out by Youngstown #2.  Many members and their families of the department traveled to the event to support their brother fireman.
